Improving by listening to our dancers.
After 11 years organizing the Barcelona Swing Festival we've learned a lot about what lindy hoppers need from a swing festival. The feedback we've received from the dancers in previous editions lead to the festival as it is today. Still we're improving a number of issues for this 12ve edition, namely:
  • The PARTIES:
    • The schedules will be extended to get more general dancing hours.
    • We're adding "more" AFTERHOURS Parties for the crazy non-stop dancers.
  • The WORKSHOPS:
    • There will be AUDITIONS for many levels.
    • LINDY HOP is extended with more levels.
    • BALBOA will offer a half track for those who want to combine it with another track.
    • ORIGINAL JAZZ detailed contents and teachers will be published in advance.
    • We're adding more OPEN classes at lunch time.
  • barSWINGOpen championships:
    • TEAMs division gets 1000 € prize for the winner !
    • New STRICT LINDY division for couples: no choreography, strict lindy, aerials allowed, musicality, versatility and creativity in swing should be the goal.
  • ACCOMODATION:
    • Hostels: We're adding new hostels in our list of options but Pere Tarres Hostel continues to be our recommended establishment.
    • Hotels: We're adding new hotels in our list of options but Torre Girona hotel continues to be our recommended establishment.
  • REGISTRATION PACK:
    • You'll get a nice surprise gift in your registration pack in addition to your bag.
    • We're having new sponsors that hopefully
  • MERCHANDISING:
    • We're creating new festival t-shirts (we did not have them last year) that can buy in advance.
    • In our shop area you'll find a wider selection of dance shoes offered by our own brand (and also other shoemakers. Check them out.
  • PRICES & REGISTRATION:
    • To overcome the international economic crises, we're keeping freezing the prices: they will be the same than last year ! Amazing: You pay the same but you get more !
    • Dancers registered by groups will continue to get a 10% discunt plus two gifts: one for the group and one for the group leader.
    • Everyone is asked to pay registration deposit thru maypal o money transfer.
